About Jennifer MoyerJennifer S. Moyer, MEd, ACC is a coach, educator and consultant, who uses the tools and mindset of coaching to help individuals improve their leadership and helps organizations change. She is a 7-year veteran of creating change in medical education and directed a unique program for medical students using concepts of emotional intelligence to choose, teach, coach and help launch young doctors with leadership skills. She has worked with universities for 15 years. Jennifer Moyer leads volunteers and professionals in change initiatives including curriculum development, facilitation, leadership coaching, and organizational consulting. Her skills and experience come from a synthesis of interdisciplinary training and work as a director of a service leadership camp, a senior administrator in academic medicine, and a developer of leadership curriculum. She recently started her own company, JSMoyer Consulting, to assist academic and healthcare organizations in the design, preparation, and delivery of professional curricula and training initiatives. Jennifer Moyer is certified in the use and administration of MBTI, the Emotional & Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) a 360- assessment tool. She has completed the accredited Teleos Coach Development Program course work for certification by the International Coaching Federation. As an executive coach, Jennifer Moyer supports individuals within their organizational contexts to maximize professional impact. She has helped individuals and organizations foster teamwork, create and maintain effective and rewarding relationships, and realize visions for personal achievement. She provides executive and leadership coaching to all levels of organization including senior executive rank, mid-level and first time managers, and medical students. Prior to starting JSMoyer Consulting, Jennifer was the Director of Strategic Initiatives in the Office of Educational Affairs at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine (USF MCOM). There she provided leadership support to all programs within the Vice Dean’s office by functioning as the central resource for operational and administrative support for an office of 45 faculty and staff. One of Jennifer’s roles was to serve as Chief Administrative Liaison to Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) as USF MCOM partnered with LVHN to create a branch campus in Allentown, PA, for the SELECT (Scholarly Excellence. Leadership Experiences. Collaborative Training.) MD program. She was part of the executive curriculum planning group and helped to create the leadership curriculum and structure, including the innovative faculty coaching program and the delivery of a 360 assessment of emotional intelligence (ESCI) to every SELECT medical student. Jennifer continues to teach in the SELECT leadership curriculum, train and support physician faculty to coach medical students, and administer the ESCI to faculty and students. Jennifer’s passion for leadership development started in high school after attending the week-long service leadership camp, the Leadership Development Center sponsored by the American Red Cross. She joined as a volunteer staff member for 10 year before leading the camp for the next three years as the Director. The camp is now its own non-profit, Spark the Wave, and Jennifer recently returned to volunteer again as an invited instructor. Her first career was as a certified athletic trainer in the collegiate setting for 8 years. She credits her keen observation skills to watching thousands of hours of practice and games being on alert for injuries. She gained lots of practice in mediation guiding conversations between player, coach, team physician and sometimes parents. Her favorite part of the job was building lasting relationships with the student-athletes, coaches and student athletic trainers. Jennifer worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Ohio University, the University of Pennsylvania, and was co-Head Athletic Trainer at Eckerd College. Jennifer obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and her Master of Education degree from the University of Virginia. She was an active member of the Junior League of Tampa and served on the Board of Directors for over two years, and she recently transferred to the Junior Leagues of Charleston. Jennifer is a beginner golfer, avid concert goer, fan of college athletics and self-proclaimed shopping expert. She loves to travel with her husband and has experienced 20 countries and counting. Natives of Pennsylvania, she and her husband recently relocated to Charleston, SC after residing in Tampa, FL for over seven years. |
